Restaurant Vinha d' Alhos is integrated in a historic building of Valado dos Frades, an old producing wine cellar built in 1924, where there are still several vestiges and elements of this history, as well as the wine press where the wine was made or the pipes and tanks where the wine was stored.
The building has retained much of the structure of the historic wine cellar as well as some of its most characteristic elements, which combined with careful and personalized decoration to the place, creates an extremely comfortable, warm and traditional atmosphere.
In 2015 the building is acquired with the purpose to transform it into a restaurant, maintaining the original architecture, with the aim of rebuilding its structure, but keeping the typical bucolic characteristic of the village cellar. Create a space that preserves the memory of Valado past related with monks but which has the comfort and the modern sophistication of the present.
The concept "Vinha d' Alhos" is to use traditional products of the highest quality and bring them at table in an evocative confection of the best that Portuguese gastronomy has to offer.
